Ban Greyhound/Dog Racing in South Korea /North Korea

Greyhound/ Dog racing is legal in South Korea. South Korean Greyhound Derby (World Cup Squad). In North Korea due to the dictatorship of Kim Jong Un greyhound/Jindo dog racing is not undertaken as openly as in South Korea and also Horse racing became legal in 2017 in North Korea.

Please note there is:

  • There is NO REHOMING of GREYHOUNDS in South Korea that applies across SEASIA.

  • Greyhounds are not the only breed of dogs that are being exploited by the racing industry.

  • Korean Jindo dogs are specifically bred for racing in South Korea and North Korea.

  • Jindo breeders have been promoting Jindo dog racing to attract more Tourism and money into Korea.

But unfortunately, the Jindos share the same fate as the Greyhounds as when they no longer serve a purpose for the breeder /trainer/ owner they are sold to the brutal Dog Meat Farms or the Dog Meat/Restaurant and Dog Meat Markets.

There is no public awareness of the inherent cruelty in Greyhound / Dog / Jindo racing, therefore, Tourists ex pats are propping up this horrendous industry by financially funding it through betting gambling and attendance at tracks.

The Racing and Dog and Cat meat industries are linked and therefore both must be defunded, and Animals rescued.

HOW TO STOP GREYHOUND/DOG CRUELTY

The South Korean Government and Ministry Of Tourism are using Greyhound Racing as a ploy to bring tourist to South Korea.

Animal Cruelty will not be tolerated and is not TOURISM.

We are making an international stand alongside other animal protection and greyhound rescue groups TO BOYCOTT South Korea until they:

  1. Ban Greyhound/Dog Racing,

  2. Set Up a Rehoming for the remaining greyhounds/dogs

  3. Ban the Dog and Cat Meat Trade

  4. Implement and enforce Animal Welfare Laws
